Summary:
After Big B’s much anticipated movie Aladin swooped face- down in the Bollywood box- office, his fans are keeping their fingers crossed for his latest release, R Balakrishnan's ‘Paa’. The film is an emotional drama based on the relationship of a father and his son who is suffering from ‘Progeria’. In India these issues are hardly ever touched. But sensible director Mr. R. Balakrishnan has taken the initiative in putting this on celluloid, an honest effort with Big B (Amitabh Bachchan) in the lead.
Sr. Bachchan plays the son who is suffering with this rare congenital disease where the person ages rapidly. Abhishek Bachchan plays father supported by Vidya Balan and Harman Baweja on important pivotal roles.
The sequences of the film are shot in Delhi and some parts in Cambridge University. The film is stated for a worldwide release around the 4th of December.
Amitabh’s look is kept under wraps and sources reveal that a well known, international make- up artist was hired. Some sources suggest that Stephen Dupuis is behind the charisma but all is not known for sure. New is that Amitabh Bachchan had to go through a 4 hours vigorous process of building the make up. So far only Amir Khan has been lucky enough to catch a glimpse.
Mr.Bachchan recently wrote in his blog: "My rituals today were guided by the extensive hours at the studio, a major portion of which were in front of the make up mirror, getting the face plastered with silicon. It took 4 hours for it all to come on and another hour to take it off. But may I say the results were simply phenomenal.” Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan is helping with the marketing strategies for the film.
