It is without a doubt the most awaited for movie of the year, but is it the best Hindi movie on the big screen? The publicity has been spectacular for this one and the expectations are higher than ever. The question on everyone’s lips now is – will “Blue” live up to those expectations? One thing is for sure – as far as Indian movies are concerned, nothing like this has ever been tried!

It takes a great deal of courage, intuition, dedication and bravery, all backed up by powerful financial sustaining, in order to make this project into what Anthony D’Souza, debutant director and co-writer (along with wife Jasmine) has transformed it! All you will find are almost 2 hours of entertainment and adrenaline rush! This movie is nothing short of extraordinary and a must-see for action-movie lovers.

Filmed in the sunny Bahamas, “Blue” tells the story of Sagar (Sanjay Dutt), a simple working man, and his friend Aarav (Akshay Kumar), a rich entrepreneur. It doesn’t take long for the movie to present a third male star, Zayed Khan playing Sam, Sagar’s brother, who arrives from Bangkok with the dangerous mafia on his tail, led by Rahul Dev. Sagar is the only person that can help Sam, but in order to do that, he will have to fight with memories of his dead father.

“Blue” catches the eye as soon as it starts rolling, with underwater scenes reminding of Discovery Channel shows. The uncomplicated story beautifully put into play by Anthony D’Souza’s talent, combines like no other the action sequences with under sea filming. Large chunks of the movie have been filmed underwater actually, and this gives really incredible momentums as the film roles. This is mostly thanks to the participation of Pete Zuccarini in the cinematography of the movie, which was of great help. However, all is good until the climax comes into talk, and this will surely be a great disappointment for a lot of people.

The sound design is incredible, dialogues are very catchy, screenplay is well written, and A R Rahman is there, too, with songs to sing for Kylie Minogue, Sanju and Lara to dance on and for the credits to roll upon.

As for the acting in the movie, there shouldn’t be any complaining. With a little belly showing and all, Sanjay Dutt does a good job, Akshay Kumar is the showman and the star as always while Zayed Kahn steals some of the attention regardless of the high-ranked company. While for the women, Lara Dutta has to be at her best in this movie because she looks splendid! Katrina Kaif is another presence that is hard to miss, and surely the audience will more than appreciate their presence.

All being said, “Blue” has everything packed in 2 hours of heart throbbing scenes. The first class cast combined with the action sequences and marine footage is sure to get all the laurels it deserves, and lets not forget the box office incomes
