| Abhay Deols Dev D is still fetching rave reviews from people and countries worldwide. Recently the film was screened in Venice Film festival where Abhay’s performance was appreciated by none other than actor and Oscar winner Matt Damon. Hollywood actor Matt Damon specifically congratulated Abhay on his acting in the movie and concluded that he is a fan of the actor and his acting prowess in Dev D. A great feat we must say. This is not the first time he has been appreciated for the role. Abhay’s acting was appreciated by critics and reviewer of News- lines like ‘Times of India’, ‘Hindustan Times’ and ‘Indian Express’.
The new Deol, Abhay has always depicted strong and contrasting characters in his films. He started with “Socha Na Tha” in 2005 and continued with “Ahista Ahista”, “Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd”, “Ek Chalis Ki Last Local”, “Manorama Six Feet Under” and his very recent film “Dev D” released in February 2009.
Though he was compared with veterans as his uncle Dharmedra when he was first launched into Bollywood, he has proved his mettle much above the general. Recently his acting caliber in Dev D was compared with Dilip Kumar and Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Devdas’. The movie did very well on the box office and critics rated Abhay Deol's performance much better than Shahrukh Khan and Dilip Kumar.
Abhay is much happy guy after his Dev D. It was one of his own modern interpretations of Sharat Chandra’s Devdas and the accolades have finally proved that he is worth much better. Currently the actor has also been enrolled into TED’s (Technology, Entertainment, Design) as a speaker. Film-maker Shekhar Kapur is also accompanying him at the event. |
