Television & movie actress Bhuvaneswari has been arrested by city police on charges of prostituition. Bhuvaneswari is a popular Kollywood actress who had earlier starred in films like "Boys" and "Middle Class Madhavan".
The news about several actresses arrest was published in the leading Tamil Daily newspaper and this probably will tarnish their reputation and this has upset Nadigar Sargam, an association of South Indian Actors, and this organization maintains solidatory and support towards Tamil actors and actresses. It has been reported that Natisam, the manager of Nadigar Sangam actually went to Chief Minister's office and submitted a formal petition requesting action against the daily newspaper that published the news.
Many popular Tamil actors and actresses met the Sangam complex to lodge a complaint with the commissioner. The president of Nadigar Sangam said that they will look into taking legal action against the newspaper. "The daily is bound to give explanation about the basis on which they published the list of actresses allegedly in the 'flesh trade', purportedly given by the arrested actress. How did they manage to get access to the information the actress is said to have told the Police? We would file defamation case against the daily, for sure!"
